We arrive just in time to do some scouting before day one of our hunt. There is quite a bit of pressure on our first morning but we head into a spot that we felt confident a bird would be roosted. As expected, we get him to gobble on the roost. Unfortunately, he is across the public line but, with some sweet talking we are able to get our first Virginia gobbler on the ground!   [![Share on Facebook](https://resources.mossberg.com/hs-fs/hubfs/SocialShare/share-facebook.png?width=24&name=share-facebook.png)](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fresources.mossberg.com%2Fjournal%2Fvirginia-mountain-gobbler-spring-collective%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dfacebook) [![Share on LinkedIn](https://resources.mossberg.com/hs-fs/hubfs/SocialShare/share-linkedin.png?width=24&name=share-linkedin.png)](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https%3A%2F%2Fresources.mossberg.com%2Fjournal%2Fvirginia-mountain-gobbler-spring-collective%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dlinkedin) [![Share on Twitter](https://resources.mossberg.com/hs-fs/hubfs/SocialShare/share-twitter.png?width=24&name=share-twitter.png)](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fresources.mossberg.com%2Fjournal%2Fvirginia-mountain-gobbler-spring-collective%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&url=https%3A%2F%2Fresources.mossberg.com%2Fjournal%2Fvirginia-mountain-gobbler-spring-collective%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&source=tweetbutton&text=Virginia%20Mountain%20Gobbler%20%7C%20Spring%20Collective) [![Share on Email](https://resources.mossberg.com/hs-fs/hubfs/SocialShare/share-email.png?width=24&name=share-email.png)](mailto:?subject=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fresources.mossberg.com%2Fjournal%2Fvirginia-mountain-gobbler-spring-collective%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail%20&body=Check%20out%20https%3A%2F%2Fresources.mossberg.com%2Fjournal%2Fvirginia-mountain-gobbler-spring-collective%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Demail) ## Related Posts [![](https://resources.mossberg.com/hs-fs/hubfs/moss-ducks%20at%20reelfoot-1.png?width=352&name=moss-ducks%20at%20reelfoot-1.png)](https://resources.mossberg.com/journal/red-heads-on-the-big-water-the-waterfowl-collective-ep-17) ### [Red Heads on the Big Water | The Waterfowl Collective - Ep. 17](https://resources.mossberg.com/journal/red-heads-on-the-big-water-the-waterfowl-collective-ep-17) With an unseasonably warm late season in New York, we finally get some solid weather and a good...
