Mossberg and Sons, Inc. expands its venerable line of security firearms with the new [590 Shockwave pump-action firearm](https://www.mossberg.com/category/series/590-shockwave/).  Featuring a 14 3/8 - inch barrel, pistol grip, and an overall length of 26.5-inches, [the 590 Shockwave does not fall under the purview of the National Firearms Act](https://www.mossberg.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Shockwave-Letter-from-ATF-3-2-17.pdf) and does not require additional paperwork or the payment of a [tax stamp for transfers\* (learn why).](https://www.mossberg.com/defining-a-shotgun/)   The 590 Shockwave mirrors the features of Mossberg's legendary pump-action platform combined with the latest innovation from Shockwave Technologies - their Raptor pistol grip along with a strapped forend for improved handling. The grip, constructed of durable glass-filled polymer with a non-reflective, black finish and an overall length of 5.25 inches,  combined with the tactical forend provides for greater control and smoother overall operation.
