In case you missed it, the 590 Shockwave is now available for sale in Ohio!
Described by Gov. Mike DeWine as a "reaffirmation of the Second amendment," Ohio HB228 was signed into law in recent weeks. The bill changed the state's definition of a "sawed-off-firearm" to EXCLUDE any firearm with an overall length of at least 26 inches and not otherwise federally regulated.
With an overall length of 26.3", the path was cleared for the Mossberg 590 Shockwave to be made available for sale in the Buckeye state.
The 590 Shockwave rose to quick popularity upon its introduction in 2017, and the offerings have grown from there, including 20 gauge, Cerakote, and .410 options, as well as a retro look featuring wood furniture, called the 590 Nightstick. 2019 additions include a Shockwave with an integrated red dot Crimson Trace Lasersaddle; a Shockwave SPX which includes a heat shield, top rail and shell holders; and a mag-fed 590M Shockwave with 10 round double stack detachable magazine.
Mossberg applauds the Ohio state legislature, and is grateful that residents of Ohio can now exercise their Second Amendment right and protect their home and families with one of their most popular security firearms.
